Thinking of putting a t-170 ft three spd od trans ,out of a 84-85 f-150 alum case top shift overdrive in my 53 f-100 flathead ,not sure of what I am getting into, anyone out there tried it ? thanks

I would also like to know. I have the same truck, and the same tranny sitting in my garage. I have been told its similar to installing a top loader 4spd that was in Ford muscle cars in the 60's.

One thing for sure ,you would have to fab a bracket that would bolt to trans to support the clutch and brake pedal assy
