Radial engine, no wing struts.
Most likely suspect... A Cessna 195.

AutoZone sells a static cling window shade product that it seems you could use by cutting out a piece in the shape of your mirror. Just a thought. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=515001_0_0_

It is a Cessna 195 first built and flown the year Old Henry was - 1947. Same with the Spruce Goose on the other bobble.

Here's a close-up of the Cessna:

And the Goose bobble:

Static cling is a nice idea but unfortunately the screen is too opaque to see through on a mirror.

I left my other mirrors on for looks but don't really use them. They're just not as useful as the peep mirrors.

Here's my driver's side. Passenger side is the same.

I got a pair of swan neck mirrors for my coupe and I know they will be as usleless as a "chocolate fireguard as they are not set up for RHD. I got them because I'm missing the 2 chrome strips on the cowl, because those little strips are as rare as rocking horse stuff around here. They are an expensive decoration, but I like them. I'll have to get some of those peeps for practicality.

You can see in the reflection on the peep mirror that I also have the swan necks but they are, as you say, fairly useless, particularly the one on the passenger side of the car.
