Default 33 Fordoor windshield removal

After disconnecting the hinges, does the windshield frame slide off to the driver’s or passenger side? I’m assuming it’s slides on a pin as does the top of the hood halves.

Pull the pin in the crank out mechanism [little hinge] -remove complete windshield. There are corner screws in bottom section for glass removal. Hinge sections are welded to top of frame. Right?

Unhook the regulator either by removing the the two screws or driving out the pin. Take out the header panel and remove the two screws from each hinge then lift the bottom edge outward and the frame will come straight out.

I usually scribe around the edge where the frame tabs meet the hinges as guide for reinstalling the windshield frame. Saves some messing around getting adjusted.

I was hoping the process could be completed externally without messing with the headliner. The reason for doing this is it’s a deluxe where someone painted body color over the chrome.

Unless somebody changed up the interior; removing the header panel does not entail messing with the headliner.

If the hinges are removed and the hand crank opener is removed from the frame the windshield should come off. The inside of the frame is painted black and for the Deluxe the outside is chrome. New frames are reproduced.

If the outside of the frame is painted you can probably remove the paint without removing the windshield.
