Default Wind Noise Source?

I was driving my '36 5W coupe yesterday on the interstate hwy and the wind noise was practically deafening. It was difficult to talk to my passenger with normal voice and listening to a radio would be out of the question. True, I was moving at between 65 and 70 mph and there was about a 25 mph wind against me. Is this to be expected under those conditions or is there anything I could do about it? My door seals look ok (slight resistance with an adding machine tape pulled from closed door) and the windlace looks ok. Window glass moves a little as the drivers side window rattles when going over bumps. When the window is up or open partially, the wind noise is about the same.

I have experienced wind noise whenever driving into the wind. Yesterday it was particularly loud on the interstate highway at 65-70 mph.

The wind makes more noise when going over a rough surface. To reduce the noise, you either have to redirect the wind, smooth out the surface or decrease the speed that the wind is hitting the car.

That is just your car saying "SLOW IT DOWN!"

Most likely, the wind is getting between the windshield and the "A" pillar. If you think wind noise is bad in a Coupe, try driving a Convertible, under the conditions you described, with the top up... Talk about wind noise...

Our 37 is full of dynamat etc and is much quieter than before the rebuild. But in saying that if we get a side wind or decent head wind the noise will increase , we can still talk ok. Though no where as noisy as our 32 3w with no interior at all, that's not worth having a stereo in.

This is why I always install a buzzer on my turn signals. Nothing worse than following some old goat in his old car down the interstate for 20 miles with a turn signal on.

It is not just the "old goats". A lot of young "kids" as well.

Is your roof insert attached all around?? Or while driving does it "lift"? Yes, I realize it's a coupe.

Think it's your windshield not entirely closing at the bottom. You need to take off the headliner at the top of the windshield and loosen the screws in the 2 levers, adjust and
then retighten. Can be a pain in the butt and is why I still have same pbm. Terry

Take 18"s of heater hose and listen to where the noise is coming from. G.M.
