'40 Std coupe seat
New again to '40's. Had a coupe, tudor and fordoor in the early '60s, but forgot a lot of what little I knew.
I would like to get the god awful seat upholstery out of the coupe, but am unsure what how you get the side panels of the seat. I see how you undo the 4 mounting bolts to get the seat off the floor brackets, but the side panels are the question. Are those round head bolts or ? Please see photo. |

That seat looks, something, like my 39. The side panels are connected to the bottom of the frame with bolts on each side. The side panels have t-nuts. Look on the inside of the seat frames to find the bolt heads.

Re: '40 Std coupe seat
Thank you 39 std. The chrome, round head fastners ? you see in the photo of the side panels have no way to turn them. Are they actually the t-nuts with the bolts inside the seat frame ?

Here's a picture of my frame, yours may be different. Bolts go thru from the inside of seats' metal frame into t-nuts on wooden sides.

Those chrome fasteners may be "blind nuts" that were used on woodies. You'll probably see the bolts on the inside of the side panels.
