28-29 Roadster latches......
Rusty Nelson and I were talking about the latch's for open cars and
when they were used. Does anybody know the date's at which the latch's were? Thanks from Rusty and I. |

Re: 28-29 Roadster latches......
The first latch was obviously used before traditional dovetails were used on open models. The drawings for the 30+ associated parts for the dovetails (including the latch redesign) were done 4/4/28. From that my best estimate is that implementation began about the end of April.
We know from the post on windshield finger clips that the third latch came into play late November 1928.

Re: 28-29 Roadster latches......
Would this be a " first in last out " on the latch for my 8-28 car. It has the 1st style
latch.....which makes it about 105 days. Also, it has the dovetails. Am I reading this correctly.... Thank you Marco. |

This would likely be more of an issue of priorities and not getting it done in a timely manner as it wasn't critical. However if you also tell me that the car never had separate dovetails then we need to reevaluate!
