Don't have it handy but I think it was Dec 1932 service bulletins that have the formula for " cylinder oil soda soap grease " in it . The thing that makes it so different is the use of TALLOW . That gives it a melting point of under 100 F . The old waterpump grease is like that also . Seem to remember looking it up and dropping point on CHG is 450 F . I just use straight SAE 140 in the tranny , u-joint , rear end and steering box [ 33-34 's ] with good results . FWIW there are MANY threads on this and yes 4oz is factory spec . !!!!!!!!!!!!

Part of lube process and more critical as you don't get a warning when it fails is the roller bearing behind the Uni joint in the front of the drive shaft .The lube of what ever you choose needs to be flung back to do this job that's why filling it to the top occasionally is a good thing .Like a steering box it needs to be filled right up to lube the top bearing . it will likely migrate to the rear end eventually so compatibility with the trans oil is a consideration ,The gear box fill plug is just above the centre of the U joint so some spill over will accrue I think this was engineered in as the motor slopes back all this was pioneered on the Model A ,Ted

The other fix is to buy the Lincoln u-joint from Bob Drake . It uses a modern u-joint that is a sealed unit that doesn't require lube. I have used them on 2 cars but only time will tell of the quality. They are about 90.00$.
