I have several of these tags from the ford authorized rebuilder in Atlanta. I was told that was the norm from the early 50's up, but I would bet these tags were used before then. Ford started using block letters in 49 so I would think that the tags would have had that on them?

The tag says Boston, but that was actually the Somerville Ford plant, which closed somewhere in the '50s during McNamara's reign. That was before he got us into Vietnam, which he begged forgiveness for. I toured the plant in the Boy Scouts.
I have had a couple of the Somerville plant rebuilds, but the tag said Somerville. It is a shopping plaza now, called Assembly Square in honor of it's history.

It was before 1960, as RMP in Fitchburg started about that time. In the 70's we had a driver for them named "Stoney" and he used to tell me stories about the Somerville plant. He had his L series box truck that was stocked with all the small engine parts he needed to service us. He'd also bring down all the rebuilt engines we'd order. They were all bolted to a small wooden pallet with the crank noses pointing upward.
Now all the small parts are sold thru the local motorcraft warehouse and the big stuff like engines and trannys are still from RMP. A lot of their engines and trannys actually come from Bob Jones in Texas.

I have quite a few of those tages pinned to my wall behind my bench, from a lot of differant places. If you have built engines for 65 years you would have seen a lot of the them, Walt

I found two of those engine rebuild tags on FH V8 engines I have aquired over the years. Have one on a little '37-'39 60hp V8 that I purchased near Boston, MA, ~ 10 yrs ago, and another that came on a '38 to '42, 24 stud engine I bought here in MD several years ago. If I get time today, I may take pics and post them here.
