Default Seat covers for 48 Ford

Back in the day dealers would put seat cover over the seats. These were solid vinyl on top of back and front of seat with a woven vinyl in between. Can you get these anywhere?

My friend Steve (Steve's46) found a set on Epay not too long ago, you might want to check it out.

I agree with Vic, I found a set for my 39 ford on eBay. The box said western auto I think. They were nos. didn't fit perfect but really well for being a supplier brand. I would check on there often as they do seem to pop up from time to time. I paid 125.00 for mine.

To find true NOS covers is nearly impossible. However the prospect of finding NORS (new old REPLACEMENT stock) covers is within reason.
The covers that Vanspeed found are NORS. That is, made for the after-market by a company other than one that supplied Ford. Thus, one would expect that these would not have the exacting specifications Ford would have required of their covers and the fit would be somewhat lacking when compared to NOS.
I have attached two photographs, one is depicting Ford (OEM / NOS) covers. The other? Firestone (aftermarket / NORS)

Let me clarify my wants. I want seat covers that look like those old seat covers. Don't need to be NOS, actually rather not be NOS because I'm sure after all this time they wouldn't hold up good. Does anyone make them now?

They make new seat covers , but they don't look old. Check e-Bay and see what is offered.

My seat covers were red with a plaid insert. They were NORS as stated above. There was no rot, and in the sun the shape and feel came back. I drove it for over 4 years with them and they still looked and felt new.

That has been my experience with both NOS and NORS covers. Not 100% certain what they made them out of, but man, they sure do hold up!

Kube, are they hard to install? I bought a set but have not tried to install them yet. Just wondering if there are any secrets to it?
Thanks,
Danny
