Post 1930 Roadster Grab Handles.

1930 Roadster Grab Handle columns or vertical supports.
How were they originally finished?
Being zinc, were they polished or plated?
My grab handles are chrome over brass.

1930 some early top rest handles were Chrome as for the 4 cones. ..I have only 1 brass bar that was chrome plated. All others i have are stainless steel.

Huh! I didn't know anything could be plated over aluminum.

Hi Ford Garage.
I only called them 'Grab Handles' because that is what Snyders call them. I have heard them called by both terms. I thought that if Snyders called then 'Grab Handles' that would be the correct term, whereby the term 'Top Rests', is a far better one, seeing what they do.
Les.

They call them "grab handles" so they can sell them to Coupe owners!

Will,
Careful with the humor stuff, it'll get you in deep "poo-poo" with the really serious folks, you might be labeled a "peep" or an "ankle biter" (If you have a dog!) Bill W.

Hell , i have one better ...I was told at Southbury Conn. car show by the team captain my MARC Henry Ford Winner [Standard Roadster] had the WRONG gas tank or panel ..Said NO standard roadster had a ROUND Speedometer...only Oval. So a Tudor with shower curtain interior and brown fenders won the Model "A' class... Its been a long time since i have been back[1991] . They can kiss my Model "A' Ass.

Real coupe grab handles should be mounted up beside the rear window. That's where they'd be useful.

Seeing those top rests on a coupe is a pet peeve of mine, it just looks so darned foolish.
Vince,
Friends Don & Minnie have grab bars on the "B" posts of their beautiful "30 Coupe to assist in mounting the car since they've both had multiple chassis parts replaced! They look very well on the car. Bill W.
