Default Seat height

Can anyone tell me the height of the front seat cushion from the floor on a 48 mercury / ford convertible or coupe. I could not find an original front seat for my 48 mercury convertible. I was forced to use an after market seat, and it does not have the same type of springs. So I don't know how much cushion to use or if I will need to shim under the seat mounts to obtain the correct height from the floor.

sounds goofy but I need to do something

The Merc used the same seat as the Ford. I suspect they can't be that rare.
