New to the forum
Greetings, I'm sure I'll need this forum for lots of advice soon. I've recently purchased a 1926 model T touring body and have a frame and axles given to me by my dad and am starting to slowly piece the car together. I just finished high school (I thank God every day I'm not one of the kids that has a Honda with stickers and fart exhaust) and plan to at least have the car hacked together and running within the next year if I have time for it. When I have some time to take pictures I'll post a build thread on it.

As the saying goes, welcome to the affliction. Here are a couple of pages with info for the new T guy.

It is a start, the body and frame look doable in the photos.

Re: New to the forum
I would love to just buy a complete car to start with for several thousand but being that I'm only 18 I hardly have any extra money to work with. I'm going to piece the car together with swap meet/craigslist scores and just assemble it with rusted parts and go for the barn find look. I'm sure I might catch some flak for that but at least I can enjoy the car that way instead of risking losing interest by having a torn apart full on restoration that I can't drive for many years

Re: New to the forum
Bottom line of your post says it all! You are on the right track. Enjoy putting it together and enjoy driving it. Rust is beautiful!
Welcome to the Barn. Lots of great experience and help here. "I am pretty old and over the years I have gotten wisdom and experience, and I have all the answers. Trouble is no one is asking the questions!" |
