Default 6 volt LED tail lights

I have a stock 39 and I now see they sell 6 volt (51 bulb) LED tail lights that look stock - Any one use them?

Likes? Dislikes?

I would think responses would be all positive but before I buy, I'd like to hear some feedback

Thanks

Before buying you may want to review this thread where I tested LED's and compared them to halogens and Sacramento Vintage Ford's super bright incandescents (what I and many have found to be best). https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67558

I think he's talking about the lenses that have a bunch of leds built into them, rather than the bulb replacements in your thread.
Martin.

I, too, am interested in the answer(s) to that question for my '39.

Also, what do they mean by "rapid fire"?

Thanks.

Hi there, I have tried those multi LED lens type in my 6 volt 34 ford. They only make those in 12 volt and so are not at full brilliance on 6 to 8 volts. They are also very directional. If you move off to the left or right they become quite dull. Not very good in my opinion. My car has standard bulbs which work quite well especially if you paint the inside of the light white. Regards, Kevin.

koates /oldHenry thanks I spoke to a third friend who also stated painting inside white makes a huge difference. You guys saved me $80+ bucks - I will first paint white and then see if I need to go with the super bright.

dean suggest you do same.

BTW - the clear running lights I added are as bright as modern day headlights - very pleased.

Good option is to install a "Brakelighter" - strip of LED lights you mount in rear window - at a good height for easy visibility - come in 6 volt.

Highly recommended option. Easy to wire.
