Default Main bearing caps

Just curious,
The main bearing caps on a 50 Ford 8BA I am working on are marked:
Rear.......8BA 6325
Middle...7RA 6330B
Front.....7RA 6329

All fit and measure to spec.. Just curious on the 7RA?
Thanks
John

Yes I've noticed allot of AB soup on main caps for years and often wondered why. At first I bore checked everything. Now I just drop in the crank and spin it. Next use plastic gauge and check for size and taper. It won't turn with the wrong cap.

I think the 7RA refers to the fact that the engine was introduced in the 1947 for the R series pickup. OOPs, I should have said 1948.

Does that mean that the 47 pickup had an 8BA block?

It just means the caps were interchangable, before use as a casting. Once machined it's just for your block. When Line boring a 59 block use an 8ba style fron and center cap stronger. So I'm told.
