60 Horse Flathead
Anybody playing around with the little 60 flathead? I just bought a 29 ford that someone put a 60 in sometime in the 50s. It is not running at present! They also installed a 40 column with the 3 on the tree? Are there any inherent problems before i spend alot of time trying to get it running?
Thanks, Rog |

Re: 60 Horse Flathead
If you can get it running use it. If it has to be rebuilt don't. Very anemic for a hot rod motor. And expensive speed parts.

Re: 60 Horse Flathead
My friend, Nolan Cason, had a 29 roadster with a 60 in it. Nice, nice. Get the 60 going and I think you will love it. Charles

If you can get it running use it, but if the you had to rebuild you can get more HP and torque out of a Model A-B. Walt

Re: 60 Horse Flathead
I love my 60! Plenty of power.
As you probably know the basics. Check compression, go through the fuel system and the ignition system. The biggest headache might be the distributer. But! You will be happy with that 60.
