1934 cabriolet
Back in 1984 I travelled to the USA and purchased a 1934 Cabriolet from Coarsegold Ca.
I imported it back to New Zealand and drove it in as found condition for a couple of years before starting what has turned out to be a 36 year (or in my case over half a lifetime) restoration. Today I took it for its first run all but 10 miles. Many thanks to David G for his advice over recent years and all other Fordbarners that have pitched in with info. Graham |

Graham, fantastic restoration and now too good to drive it. 1934 my favorite year early V8 and body style. Now for the nice part and that is to show it off. Regards, Kevin.

Re: 1934 cabriolet
33-34 Ford’s are the ultimate. Cabby and roadster are the pick of that litter!

Re: 1934 cabriolet
Graham,
Congratulations on your cabriolet's completion. It looks super and I especially like the touch of the "LHD" plate to advise other drivers why you are sitting on the wrong side of the car when driving it (along with other good reasons for having it). Well done! What's next? David |

Re: 1934 cabriolet
Love it! Though I like 32's, there is nothing more sexy than a 33-34 Cabriolet or Roadster . . . just the best early V8 design there is (I know, just an opinion). I have a 34 roadster that is in 'mothballs' - hopefully I'll have some time to get into that project in the coming few years.
Congrats on an extremely nice car . . . WELL DONE! B&S |

Re: 1934 cabriolet
Thanks David,
I don't think there will be a next, although I have always liked the Victoria, you never know. Parts are scarce here in NZ now and shipping is extremely expensive. A friend just landed a 36 sedan delivery here in NZ last week that was purchased off this site last year. Cost to get here with shipping and duty plus everyone clipping the ticket was on top of the purchase price an additional $17K from memory. As you will see I have added 37 fog lights (I like these as they are so much like scaled down 34 headlights) and converted them to directional indicators. |

Very Nice Graham: Here's hoping that you can drive it another 36 years.
