Separate forums for '32-'48 & '49-'53?
I'm sure that this must have come up before, but anyway to separate forums into '32-'48 and '49-'53?

If you do a search, you might find a post with a similar request that received quite a bit of negative responses on why this was not a good idea.

Re: Separate forums for '32-'48 & '49-'53?
Not a good idea as many of the ideas and knowledge from the early and later years of the flathead cars can be utilized by folks interested in both eras. For instance, installing early heads on an 8BA, engine rebuilds that utilize the best technical 'tricks", etc.
Plus, it would be very annoying having to switch back and forth from forum to forum looking for generic and specialized info. For example V8's and Heard's recent posting: FINALLY…T5 WITH Torque Tube in a ‘35-’40 Ford...The WHOLE STORY! and Re: T5 into '35 winter project As they say: "If the dog's asleep, don't make him growl." Howdy, V8COOPMAN,
For several years, I worked with Jim Camp, now deceased (RIP), and one of his first negotiating books was "Start With NO;" in all negotiations, we always emphasized that "no" was always an acceptable answer. I merely asked if the forums could be separated; a simple "no" would have been fine. JM 35 Sedan posting the link from an earlier request explained everything. Why you felt the need to shout at me, in all caps & bolded, too, probably wasn't necessary - ya, think? |

No.......you actually asked if there was "anyway" (any way) to separate forums. I thought I was, at the least, giving you a positive ("Yes") option, that would still suit everyone else that loves this wonderful site as-is. Sorry you took offense. DD

I don't think that any kind of manipulating the forum(s) would generate any more traffic or interest in any of the early V8 years. (IMHO)

I think there should be a separate forum for 2dr and 4dr. All those extra hinges are a drag on the verbosity of posts.

JM has a 35 and I have a 49. We are inseparable.

Keep em they way they are. They are all flatheads and I like the shoebox Fords. I recently had the pleasure of working on a friends 51 crestliner and I really liked that car. The 49-53's get the same respect from me as a 1932-1948.
