Default battery disconnect switch on 32

Where do most people mount and install a battery disconnect switch on a model B? Car not driven a lot and don't want to take out floor board every time to disconnect battery.

I mounted mine in the floorboard about 2 inches in front of the seat. It's close to everything and you don't see it with the mat over it.

Mine is on the Battery. Just lift up the mat and metal cover and there it is.

Believe it should be installed on the ground side of the battery.

On the front of the seat riser on some models is a good place. I don't think it makes a difference on which side of the battery the disconnect is on. Get a good disconnect, the small green handled ones do not make good contact and I have had 3 or 4 go bad. They are made of aluminum that is anodized a yellow color to look like brass. A heavy duty panel mounted one can also be made mount on the battery. [email protected] made the heavy duty battery mounted type at one time. Contact Bob Shewman to see if he still supplies them. Where ever you put it make it EASY to get to. 30 sec can be a lifetime if you have an electrical problem and need to get to the switch in a hurry. Mine is were I can get to it even going down the road.

True, true fordor 41, I have experianced solinoid sticking and it is not fun trying to get the battery wire nut loose while the started is running wild, with your wrench shorting against everything near. Usually a smart smack on the solinoid opens it but not always.

Lou, many years ago I committed a cardinal sin by cutting a hole in the floorboard just big enough to get the battery in and out and fit a battery isolator. PM me if you need a photo.

Good suggestions from all. I mounted mine in my trunk. My battery is located in my trunk so it made it easy. It also gives me a little more security by not having it in view. I can open the trunk in a few seconds.
