Occasionally a post refers to a previous post on the thread "above" indicating that the poster is viewing the posts of that thread in chronological order. That can be a bit tiresome on a long thread. I just thought some might be interested to know that you can set your thread display options to show the newest posts first. That way you may only have to scroll down a few to see the ones you haven't seen instead of starting at the beginning of the tread and scrolling down to see the newest ones.

To change that setting:

1. Open the User Control Panel (User CP in black bar below the Ford Barn logo at the top of the Forum page)

2. Click on "Edit Options" under "Settings and Options" in the left column,

3. Scroll down to "Thread Display Options"

4. In "Thread Display Mode" click the down menu arrow to the right of where it says "Linear - Oldest First".

5. Click "Linear - Newest First"

6. Scroll down and click "Save Changes" and you're done.

Just thought someone might like to know. I know I sure did.

The only problem area with this is the fact that so many of the threads, after several discussions, go off on an unrelated tangent away from what the original was about. Then somebody comes along only reading the latest and responds often times going off in another direction. Thus creating a convoluted thread about a lot of things not related to the original. This is only an observation not a condemnation.

Interesting but still doesn't eliminate scrolling, one way to get to the latest or the other way to see any posts previous to the last that may have been missed.

Any thread that has "new-to-you" or unread posts will have a triangle symbol at the start of the thread title when you're viewing the list of threads. Click on the triangle and it will take you to your first unread post.
