Default Removing Built Up Wax From Body Seams?

My '29 Tudor has an older black paint job that has lots of dried white wax built up in the body seams. I want to remove it without using a wheel, preferring to do it by hand. I searched here, you tube and other car sites without success as to what to use to remove the dried wax. Could something as simple as warm water and a soft toothbrush work? Or do I have to clay bar the area? I read that Dawn dish soap works well. (Does it have to be only Dawn?)
Any suggestions on what would be best to get rid of the old wax crud?
Thanks.

Toothpicks can also be a usefull tool for those hard to get at spot, but a toothbrush will get most.

Detailers use what they call a cut-off paint brush. Detail suppliers sell them and I suppose you could carefully cut a soft bristled paint brush flush and about ¾" from the metal band to make one yourself.

I'd use a tooth brush dipped in grease and wax remover. Then use some of that black wax made for black and dark colored cars.

After trying a toothbrush I landed up getting the best results with a q-tip and Ivory Liquid dish soap. I found that the toothbrush was lightly scratching the surrounding area even though the brush was a super soft sensitive type. What didn't come off with the q-tip I carefully used the point of a toothpick. I then followed up with Mequires black wax. While it's not perfect it's a lot better. Thanks for all the tips!

I did. I used Meguiar's Black Paste Wax. Although it's not really black in color, more like a gray it sure does look better then the old dry white wax that was it here. Thanks!
