Default 1157 or 1154 pigtail wiring

So in order to do this just once...is black for the tail light, and red from the brake light?

Thanks

Is it for a 35? Black is the tail light. Green is the brake wire back to the pigtail. Through 57 the brake/tail lights remained Green for brake and Black for Tail.

No...my '42 PU had no lights/brackets, etc...so I added a signal stat and a dual filament housing and fashioned up a bracket...out of both pigtails from the light housing are red and black wires...I just don't know which should be tail or brake...I had to put the battery in my tractor the other day, so I can't just turn the HL switch on and get juice right now and test each...too cold, wet and rainy to slosh out back for the battery

Thanks.

Red should be the brake and black should be tail light.

You could use you battery from the battery powered drill to test. 12 volt are less.

I don't have green

When I got the truck, it had...how you say...been "rewired" with all blue and white wire.

At least now I have the ability to trace more than two different colors

Well Houston, we now have a fully legal lighted vehicle...last thing will be to fashion up a Licence plate bracket, mount a light and call the CHP for inspection.

Had took the title in a few weeks ago, but since it was last registered in like 1990, CHP has to verify the serial number vs the title, before they will issue one in my name.

Dang, wish it wasn't winter, still need door glass!
