Finishing up my 41 woodie
Am fitting the passenger rear fender today. Apparently the body work was done with fender off the car as I've had to enlarge most of the mounting holes.
Other shot is the fiddleback maple I have on plywood inserts. Sadly I paid more for the new Ron Heiden wood than the car is worth as prices have gone down since 2016. I've been distracted by several other collector cars. Other finishing up jobs include installing drain rails and hidem. It's a wonder the car has been sitting since 2016 almost finished. Just finished up proving out the wiring which includes built in turn signals. That required some detective work in that I didn't have a diagram for the non standard rear wiring harness. Harness is the original style. Installed a corvette style master cylinder with remote brake fluid. Makes bleeding brakes easier. Car is stock except for bendix brakes, master cylinder, and Mitchell overdrive.

Re: Finishing up my 41 woodie
The 1941 rear door panel looks strange without window risers compared to the '42 thru '48s.

Re: Finishing up my 41 woodie
How do you raise and lower the rear windows on a '40-'41? Or are they fixed? Edit: Upon closer inspection it seems they are horizontal sliders. Your car is stunning by the way!

Re: Finishing up my 41 woodie
Horizontal sliders 46-48 had raise/lower. I bought some 46 mechanisms but decided not to install them. Ron Heiden all new wood.

Re: Finishing up my 41 woodie
I wouldn't change your '41 from sliding windows to the '46 riser mechanism's that you purchased. There are a lot of modifications inside the door of a '41 to accept rising windows. Your car is too nice to modify and it won't make that much of a difference in air flow.
