teeker,
Stromberg utilizes a hydraulic/ mechanical power circuit and the 94 uses
a vacuum operated power circuit. A Stromberg is rugged, tough, very dependable
and adaptable. 94's came out in '39 I guess and were cheaper. These are my opinions
only and I respect any that might differ.

The 94 is a more modern design carb, and I feel they give slightly better mpg, when setup right. That diaphragm power valve can be bothersome. The Stromberg is a simpler carb, and fairly idiot proof, easyer to get working in a multi carb setup.
I doubt you'd feel or notice much difference in overall performance twix the two, if there both set up properly. Properly being the key word here.
They both do the same job well. And you can get both of them brand spanking never been on a man's back, New. Or rebuilt, or old.
I feel most of the difference in performance reported has a lot of opinion in it. As has mine.
I am told the accelerator pump is a more responsive chap, on good comparison test. (JWL's book I think) you should get this book, lots of real unbiased back to back dynomometer tests.
Martin.

Basic V8 lore may say that the Stromberg is better for multiple carbs and the Chandler Groves design is good for singles. The fuels have gone to hell in recent years and makes the comparison tougher. Recently tried the less generous enrichment in the Chandler Groves as the 5.5 and 6.5 power valves. That reduces the wet plug problems for me. Jets remaining the same, checking for hot exhaust to reveal lean mixture. Your Mileage... Good Luck: Fred A

The number on the power valves (5.5, 6.5 and so on) in 94's (Chandler & groves) doesn't control the amount of gas in the power circuit, it controls the timing of the enrichment. It's a vacuum number.
94's do work very very well in multi carb setups, just need to be built by someone Who knows what he's doing.
