I have been searching for an under frame spare tire carrier to complete the restoration of my 1950 F47 (Canadian) truck. My question is why is it so difficult to source the carrier and mounting hardware? None of the normal vendors have it available. No demand? I assume the carrier was eventually removed and discarded over time when the spare tire was needed. You would think they would be readily available. Most restorations today tend to utilize more modern, wider tires that might not accept the original carrier. My restoration is 100% stock with original-type tires.

I am searching far and wide for a carrier in suitable condition. Have posted in the WANTED section. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
