I BELIEVE anything 1935 thru 1948 because of 1-3/4" brake shoes from 1935 onward. 1934 shoes are 1-1/2" wide. Coop . |

Re: 1934 hydraulic rear brakes
What about the B- wheel bearing vs The 68- ?
Just use the appropriate bearings to suit the hubs. The axle housings /inner races are all the same dia. If you use the BB brakes on rear, you'll need them on the front as well. Using them on the rear only, and using regular Lockheed brakes up front is very dangerous on account of the brake bias being totally wrong!

Re: 1934 hydraulic rear brakes
I use the Boling Bros front set and 46-48 Ford rear backing plate and B.B. hub and drum on two of my cars.
I drove on a brake test rack and got close to 60/40 front to rear braking. Excellent brakes. John

Re: 1934 hydraulic rear brakes
Based on what I am reading, I should have the same approximate 4 3/8” of axle shaft sticking out of the axle tube?

Hubs would need to match the drums. They don't need to match the backing plates. ie) '40 hubs/drums with '46 backing plates.
