Can any one tell me the length of a 3 window coupe door window channel???? I bought a pair of repos. and I've discovered (once connected
to the window regulator rollers) the length of the new channels extend into the front and rear vertical felt guides inside the doors????

This can't be right? I'm thinking the new window channels should slip easily in between the front and rear vertical channels as the window rolls up and down. Looks like I need to trim an inch and a half or so from the repo. window channels but before I do, I'm hoping someone else may have encountered this dilemma before me and resolved it.

Don't know about the 34, but I just went through this on my 36. Bought some NOS channels. They were obviously made to fit various models as they were about 29 inches long. On my 36 3 window, I think the overall length was supposed to be 26 and change so I had to cut off about 3 inches or so. But there is more to it than this. You will need the actual measurements to get it right.

If i get a chance will measure the ones in my 34 there are orginals with the broken glass with bugs still in the channel.

40-722170-B & 71-B are 26-11/16" OAL, lower regulator channel is 3/4" from one end & 5-3/8" from the other end. The Specs. are in the 38 Ford Hardware and Trimming Supplies book.

Tom, I went through a simular stuggle with my 34 tudor back windows, the repop channels I bought were too long, I had the rusted originals to compare. I also found one nos channel and it also was too long, possibly ford made one length replacements that would be cut to size? Ken
