Default Upside down intake, anyone use one for a downdraft

Hello, have a question. Anyone here use a downdraft carburetor on a upside down intake or modify the factory intake to take a downdraft?
Love to see pictures if you have any?

I once made a base for a 94 carb and welded it to the top of the stock manifold. Then made a plug that went alll the way to the bottom of the inside of the manifold. That bolted in where the up draft carb went. Worked real good.

This is my one

The carb flange has 2 3/4" centers. The carb off my '43 GPW doesn't fit. Does anybody know of a carb that will fit?

Many thanks

Juggs

Looks like I have a future project to do, look better than I expected.
Just picked up a Zenith duel carb intake. Just need to find a second Stromberg 97 now.

Is that a dual updraught like my name sake? Got a photo?
I've got an intake modified for two downdraught Holden type carbs. Tried it once and the exhaust manifold glowed red. Well, actually, almost white hot on a short trip. Might have been a bit lean ...

Hello Vince, I did a quick search on your site and couldn't find the intake you pictured. What can you tell us about it or do you have a link to any info for us?

I found this setup last weekend at a swap meet, it was attached to a very nice reinforced late 31 manifold that I was looking for, the seller wanted to sell them together so I bought it, the carb is a Holley GR 931-B ?, 2-1/2 throat, I am not interested in keeping it, PM me if interested in it.
Thanks Brian.
