Rear End Oil
Hey guys,
I have a '29 Tudor and I have a basic question for you. What types of oil are you putting in your rear end? I have a small leak at the drain plug and want to make sure it doesn't run dry. Would you recommend changing the oil ever? Thanks, Joe |

Re: Rear End Oil
I buy my gear lubricant from Bratton's or Snyders. Originally, it was 600W. I do recommend changing it in a car that is new to you. Just to be safe, I check it and top it off on an annual basis. I do change it every 8 - 10 thousand miles. Gar Williams

Re: Rear End Oil
The Transmission, Steering gear, and Rear End all take 600W

Re: Rear End Oil
Drain the old stuff and refill with some new 600W from the vendors.
Try either Permatex # 2 which always stays soft, or teflon tape on the threads. |

Re: Rear End Oil
Thanks for your input! I was thinking of teflon taping it as well, but i'll try the Permatex if it does not work.
