Default 49 with mustang 302

Anyone here have experience with which exhaust manifold works best with clearance for steering shaft and a Fatman front end and 302 in a 49? I'm looking at 63-67 mustang hipo or Sanderson block hugger FF3FM or ?

Original exhaust manifolds from A 90 Lincoln work real well in a 39. They look to be made of stailess and tight against the engine and exhaust comes out at the rear on both sides.

I would imagine that block hugger headers are going to be the best option mainly for the driver side. I put block huggers from summit on my panel. Around a $100 and look the same as sanderson. Have a pair of sanderson headers on my 34 and they were pricey.

the mustang 302 hipo headers will work good, they are open on the back end and are close to the block, but they are ugly as hell

Well at this point fits beats ugly. I ordered a set of hipo headers. I bought this car last June thinking I'd be able to drive it right away. Lots of waiting on parts so far - motor mounts, rack mounts, steering u joints, steering column, steering column mount and drop, power steering pump, power steering hoses, Vintage air, headers....

No replies on HAMB. Thanks for the help here!
