Default New tires for my 67 Mustang convertible.

Hi All,
My tires are getting close to the end of their life.
Rather than go with expensive Cokers, Im looking at white lettering tires.
What would a period correct brand that would still be available for purchase.
Size p195-70r14.
I live in Ontario Canada.
Many thanks,
Ted.

Couple years ago a friend put a set of white letters on his 56 Nomad. They drive well and look good. Now what’s the “period correct” letter style and brand is beyond my knowledge. But they came from Discount Tire, who are close to the largest tire shop in the US (if not the largest). I’ve used them for daily drivers, great service. He ended up there because the selection of 14” tires is getting a bit thin and the price was right.

I don’t know how that plays out in Canada though.

Edit: I left out they were Dunlops, probably not a factory tire at that time.

I always seem to go with BF Goodrich T/A Radials. Period correct...well after the tires were replaced in the 70s.... Price is fair, and they are proven.

BTW, nice car. I had a 67 coupe, and wish I had it back now.
