Sedan delivery rear door hinges
I recently saw a sedan delivery with a third hinge right about at the belt line. Inquiring minds need to know if this correct or over kill.

I never knew there were two models, do they both have the same body? >

Re: Sedan delivery rear door hinges
I think Gary WA is refering to the Tudor Delivery which was a kit conversion [Briggs design] offered in some markets..It was a cheaper alternative to a Deluxe Delivery, whereby a Tudor was fitted with a rear door. They were offered in Europe & New Zealand but also in the US, but were a very low volume option. I believe they had a two hinge rear door.

Re: Sedan delivery rear door hinges
I know the 28-29 used a Tudor size body but the 30-31 is unique, longer than a Tudor. Then there is the taller squared off body style with double rear doors.

Re: Sedan delivery rear door hinges
They may be out there, but I have never seen anything other than the 3 hinge type. With the weight of this wood framed door, you really need all 3 hinges.

Re: Sedan delivery rear door hinges
The 1929 was called the Sedan Delivery ,same size body style like the Tudor and the 1930-31 was called the Deluxe Delivery which was about 18'' longer than 30-31 Tudor body style. And Yes they did all have 3 hinges on the rear door.

Re: Sedan delivery rear door hinges
The sedan type delivery, that was produced in 1929 by Ford in the U.S., was Body Style 130-A and named De Luxe Delivery, not named Sedan Delivery. It had a single rear door with three hinges.

Re: Sedan delivery rear door hinges
The '29 Deluxe Delivery also had a longer roof line than a Tudor, but not as long as the '30 '31 DD's

Re: Sedan delivery rear door hinges
I recall seeing a photo in one of the club publications years back with 29 tudor and delivery bodies standing on their cowls, back to back. The roofline looked the same, but the rear window area on the delivery was longer. It ventured back into the rear corner about 6 to 7 inches more than the tudor.

Re: Sedan delivery rear door hinges
You are correct. The picture you are talking about is in the Picture gallery at Ahooga.com. I do not have the time to go and search for it this am., but might later in the day if no one else posts it before then. Rod

Re: Sedan delivery rear door hinges
New guy here. My Deluxe Delivery also has three hinges and a very heavy door. Sure would like to find a good lower rear hinge. Mine got rammed early in it's life and has a poor weld/repair.
