Default The Sensational 1928 Pickwick NiteCoach

The Sensational 1928 Pickwick NiteCoach came out at the same time the new Model A did. Stop by The Old Motor to see a post filled with photos and information on these units that even had a kichen and served meals.

That is TOO cool there David!! I would venture a guess that Claustrophobics need not obtain a ticket? Any wagers on which would be louder at 2AM, the roar of the motor or twenty-six snoring sleepers!!

There is a modern equivalent that runs from California to Alasaka during the tourist season. They park at night and pop out the sides for the sleeper units. Pretty high dollar tours.

Those folks in the picknic coach somehow look desperate and trapped in MHO.

Each compartment for two was much like was on a train with Pullman style cars. In the day time the seats and table could be put up and at night converted to a bed for two. Not total luxury, but compared w/a normal bus it was quite nice and the three man crew cooked for and waited on you.

Compare that with today.

The bodywork and tires look way ahead of it's time.
