Default identifying y-block starter motors

I have two y-block starter motors. One has a 5 1/8 inch bendix drive shaft and the other has a 5 3/4 inch bendix drive shaft. Can anybody tell me what exact engines/trans each fits??? I thought the y-blocks all took the same starter?? No part numbers anywhere on either starter.
Thanks for any help on this.

I just had one rebuilt for a fellow. I asked the guy at the shop the same question. He said the difference is in the drives, as far as he knew, all Y blocks took the same starter.

As I recall there are at least 3 different Bendix drives. They all fit the Y, but dont all interchange onto a given armature, due to armature lengths.
