Re: Rare Model A related parts...
I'm not aware of a second style. The one Tom shows in his photo is exactly like the one I have and also the same as the original ones off my friend's A745 Sport Coupe. If there is a second variation, I would be interested to see what it looks like.

Do samples of 28/29 Phaeton rubber Top-rest hole Body Plugs count as being rare?

Re: Rare Model A related parts...
Neat thread Steve!
Latest Hemmings Muscle Car magazine has an article about a fellow out near Spokane, who has a nice size Shelby collection BUT the highlight of his collection isn't so much the cars as it is the original parts, literature, showroom articles etc. etc. Amazing. Neat to see this in Model A related collections also, like that guy out in Ohio in Peter Winewisser's Model A book, fun to see his stuff. I enjoyed seeing Mot's pictures neat stuff! |

Re: Rare Model A related parts...
I'll post a photo Tuesday, wish we could lift the body to see what the chassis number is on this AR with so many early features. Is the light switch with instructions stamped in it rare?

What is the engine # of this Early A. ?? What are some of the other features ?? So you have both a Phaeton and a Roadster that are Early Cars ??

Skeezixx, can you post photos of your drawbar? My leatherback has one but it's made from a Model T rear cross member.

How about a NOS open car rear view mirror bracket for the first 1928 car to mid 1928.

The trailer ball is a later addition and wouldn't have been there originally. The original trailer tongue would have been flat and would have gone into the channel and the pin would fit through both plates. It looks homemade but isn't although it would be simple to duplicate: |

Re: Rare Model A related parts...
All of those items are quite rare. I located the "cheap" water pump Ford used. It is unique and in 50 years this is the first one I've seen and it was on an engine that I bought. I am running an article on it in the next issue. Notice no lube fittings, and it used a bushing in the front portion rather than a bearing.
