For MOST mods of any sort to an early BANJO type rear, these guys in Idaho are IT!

The banjo rear in my avatar was done by Wayne Atkinson in Idaho, who I believe is either the uncle or father of the guys now running the Hot Rod Works in ID. I sent my ring gear and axle housings to him and the housing the spiders go in and the machine work was done to put 9" axles and spider gears into the banjo and the ends of the housings were cut off and the 9" backing plates and bearings were used. Gives you axles you won't break and good brakes but still looks old time. I like it a lot.

I am using the 28 spline axles and the kit pieces in my 41 pickup with the "lincoln" brake backing plates (same kit as for the stock brakes) and the center section converted to open drive. The open drive was because of a modern O/D trans (T170). I don't have it on the road yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
