Mods. Can anybody clarify what's going on here? Like I said, I have looked at about everything FrankWest has posted, and I don't see anything offensive. This whole process casts a chill over the board (at least for me).

Bluebell; thanks for the explanation, it helps a lot!

If FrankWest posted an offensive post and got banned because of it, that post would have been removed also, so you wouldn't see it.

That's what happened to a guy on the Model A forum when he asked a question about a guy that decided to not visit anymore because of the naysayers.

Great! Secrecy is wonderful; all that a lot of us would like to know is what really happened.

I quite agree with the first paragraph; the second? Not so much.

Mods don't usually read every thread from what I've seen, so someone must have flagged his post?

Quoting there; Not my words. My name is below because it's a cut/patste from me.

Me still... Man I guess I didn't think far enough ahead to see this would spin out of control! Will try to be a better member of the FordBarn Forums.

The Fordbarn is not a democracy. We don't have a stake in it, we don't participate in running it, and we don't have a say in what the rules will be. i think Ryan is doing a fine job in spite of suggestions from the peanut gallery.

Hi Everyone, Just sayin' we don't ever know the story that the moderators know. If compaints or violations are regarding Private Messages, it can easily happen out of public 'sight.' Just one of many examples. So don't think we ever know the whole story.

As for the question about one's native language, I am often close enough to DC to where I interact with folks from the world as a whole and encounter non-native English speakers constantly. I actually find it very refreshing to hear such interesting life stories and accents. (BTW I have said "Nobody thinks THEY have an accent, it's everyone else that talks funny.") It is not offensive in my opinion to inquire about one's native language.

I thought the statements by Doctor's Ford were very genuine. And if they were expressed by a non-native English speaker (EDIT: writer?), then they were doubly effective at delivering the message.

Hi Everyone, FlatheadTed, you're right there!

I'd bet if we only knew 1/10th of what DavidG has done for our hobby, we'd be floored! And I'm saying that as one who does not know.

One of the guys I always read carefully.

DavidG was especially helpful with and knowledgeable about with FrankWest's very unique vehicle! I don't have anything like FW's, but enjoyed learning about the differences.

Thank you for the compliments.

I have no idea what's up in this situation with Frank West (I have a sense that may not be his real name) as his frequent PMs (none of which anyone would take offense at) and e-mail notes have dried up as well.

Whatever the circumstances, I wish him well and a quick return to this venue.

Jeff, you are right on....DavidG has an encredible wealth of knowledge on these early Fords and is a tremendous asset to this forum. I make sure I read all of his posts. He also had the patience of a saint when helping Frank with some of the questions he was posting here.
Quite honestly, with some of Franks early posts, I was concerned about his safety when getting under his car with jack stands placed in what seemed to me to be the wrong locations. I think with the help he got from DavidG and a few other members here, Frank got his car running again and back on the road.
If Frank is perminately banned from this forum, I wish him well and lots of good times driving his early Ford.

ps...everone needs to keep in mind that we are all just guests here, like being in someone else's home, we should respect that privilege.

Hi Hoop, I just perused this thread because, as you said, it keeps showing up at the top... I have a request, as a part of your thread you said, "Maybe Ryan should change the name of the site to the CARdashians." I'd like to use your phrase, CARdashians, I got a kick out of that!
