Winfield Crow Foot Head question
I have seen the pictures in a recent thread of the soon to be available Tod Winfield Crow Foot head. I have been trying to think through why this would be better than the regular Winfield or the regular Ford head. It probably has something to do with flow patterns or flame propagation.
If someone has the theories available or a reference to look over, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Vic |

Re: Winfield Crow Foot Head question
Is it a Crow Foot because there are ridges in the combustion chamber? If so Google Recardo head, and some info will come up, they used this on aftermarket Model T heads back in the day. Bob

Re: Winfield Crow Foot Head question
The Crows foot chamber had a large radius in the center closing off some of the cylinder. Not the flat edged one (straight).

Jim:
Thanks for the reply. I will be looking for a list of older books that have specific information on the various combustion chamber and head designs for our engines that have proven themselves in decades past. Vic |
