Rainmaker Ron's Handy Cotter Pin Tool
Ron had me post these pictures on Shelly's Fordbarn, but that information is now lost to outer space, so I though I'd post the pictures of this handy tool again. Ron had some information and I think dimensions to go along with the tool, but that is now lost. Hopefully Ron will see this and offer the dimensions again. This tool is used to hold the cotter pin from spinning around while bending the ends over. I am finally getting around to making one for myself today and I know the ebrake band links use 3/8" pins and the brake rods use 5/16" pins, so that's the two sizes I'll cut the notches, and of course the small pockets will fit the heads of the cotter pins. I'm using an aluminum bar 1/4" x 1" x 6" to make the tool. |

Re: Rainmaker Ron's Handy Cotter Pin Tool
I'll be the first to ask, in "Fine Point" judging just what is accepted as the proper cotter pin leg bending? Both? Short one only? Long one only?
