Smile Clearwater/Tampa/St. Pete Model A people?

Hello all. I am the newest owner of a 29 Model A and I'm in North Clearwater. I've put out a few feelers in the area, but can't find any club here. Any thoughts?

I would very much like the idea of having club support as I begin the learning curve on this old girl. Actually, it's quite healthy and I battled my way through learning how to change out the ancient tires that were on it Success!

I've driven it a total of 50 miles, so we are still getting to know each other.

So if there are any Western Florida folks out there, let me know

Patrick

Sorry, I'm in the western panhandle of Florida, so not really close to you. Just got started with my first Model A project one year ago and have learned a lot. Feel free to PM me with any questions and at least out of what I've been through in the last year, I'll be glad to tell you what I know.

Patrick- Support is what this forum is all about. Learn to use the "search" feature for whatever topic /question you may have or just post a question. You may get some widely differing answers to your question but generally you can sense the correct info if most replies are the same. Also learn to post digital photos which can be very helpful to members in identifying a part or it's condition when giving you advice. And don't forget to mention the year and model of your "A" to assist readers when you post. The national club memberships (Model A Ford Club of America, (MAFCA) as well as The Model A Restorers Club (MARC) have member rosters which can help you possibly locate some near-by members. The Model A parts suppliers offer many books on how to restore and care for your Model A. Welcome aboard the FB Forum !

If you are a new member of the hobby I would suggest you join the Model A Restorers club. You can call the MARC office and find the Region Group near you. the club office is 734-427-9050 If you have not joined I suggest you do and you can also get a membership Roster with the names of all the members, Welcome to the greatest hobby in the world

Take a look at this link to the Model A Ford Club of America Web site. There is a listing of local clubs in Flordia. Maybe this will help? There are several fine national Model A originations that promote the hobby. I am more familar with MAFCA. My experience is that the local clubs have invaluable resources. The friendships you will develop are great! Best wishes.

Patrick,
In ONLY 50 miles, you haven't even BEGAN to know your car!
Give it a name, pull up a chair, stare it in the FACE & have a LOOOONG conversation.
