Default It figures...

Come home Friday night, fresh parts in the bag ready to go on the F-1, and there's lightning, thunder, and the occasional downpour. We already had three solid days of rain earlier this week. Oh well....

As the old saying goes..... When it rains it pours..... I know you guys need rain, but not all at once.

Hey we have the same year truck! Cool! Well, the satellite TV is messing up, so I guess it's raining again. I toughed it out, and got the lower radiator hoses and generator installed. between showers. It's under a carport, but the runoff splashes just shy of the frame rails in front. Hopefully my pipes will show up tomorrow, and I can get it filled up to check for leaks. The humidity was nuts! I was soaking wet, and most of it was not rain.

Beats the Hell out of drought - I see how California looks these days . . . they'd take all the rain they can get. I live in Ohio - the clouds and rain can get me down, but it beats the hell out of no rain! It will be sunny . . . soon!

Funny thing about the old saying "The squeaky wheel gets the grease." I ordered a set of upper radiator pipes on Monday night from a well known Ford parts dealer, on ebay. Well, Thursday morning came around, and I had heard nothing about whether they were shipped, and checked the scheduled delivery date. It said June 4th which is next Wednesday??

Two other parts I ordered in the same two hour period were arriving that day(Thursday). I let them know that it wasn't very good customer service, compared to their competitors.. Lo and behold, I had been at work an hour when I received a ship notification. Now this morning I check my tracking number, and it's out for delivery? They sent it Priority Mail 2 day! I will have to give them great feedback, when I receive the pipes.

I am quickly trying to ready it for a show start for my buddy, who is coming by this evening. He's going to Kuwait for a year with the US Army, and leaving in the next couple of weeks. He'll be doing helicopter maintenance, and teaching locals the ropes.

It has cranked up twice, but that was with a dry cooling system, no generator conversion, no belts, etc. I am crossing my fingers that I have NO leaks.

Which brings up another question? Will a generator burn out with no load(IE: no wires hooked up)? I don't want to fry my gauges, and DEFINITELY don't want to burn up my "new" $205 generator that I got back yesterday.

If you are using the repro metal tubes for the upper hoses I have found they are not quite round which means you have to really crank down the hose clamps to prevent a leak. Forget using the stock looking repro hose clamps they are junk in my opinion the metal is too soft. You won't hurt the generator.

Not a single drip anywhere that I could find. Here's how it's looking at the moment. I should have just pulled everything off and repainted the engine all at once, but whatever. It will still look just as good when it's done.

Lookin' good is a plus... Runin' good is a must... Have fun with the truck.

I'm pretty sure, all I have to do is pull my truck out of the garage to make it rain... at least it seems like it lately

Uh oh... Just got yet another ship notification for the set of radiator pipes, to arrive June 4th... I hope they didn't double ship them, but they might have?
