46 firewall & under dash images?
Good day all.
Iam restoring a 46 convertible I acquired in Mexico. This was an export car at the time. It was a basket case as you can imagine. I have stripped it down for frame work, paint and rocker repair. There was little to no wiring in the car (all tossed)The dash is currently not installed. I installed a new inside firewall pad but struggling on where to mount electrical breaker and anything else. I have acquired and pieced together most of what was missing but if anyone has a suggestion or images where things go is appreciated. I have received some outstanding help from other members and am most grateful for everyones help. Trying to keep it as original as possible but not having the original layout is difficult. Trunk handle--Is there a trick to installing the large nut that retains the decklid handle on? Seems the threaded portion through the deck lid is too short. Can't seem to get nut started..?? These are repro parts I am trying to install Last edited by tracy46SDCNV; 03-29-2024 at 09:36 AM. Reason: refine details |

Here are the fairly random before pics on my '46 Deluxe Tudor. Most should be evident but ask away if uncertain of the image.

As I understand it, many convertibles have rusty floorboards due to roof leaks. I would imagine that the dashboard also suffers as well. If you don't already have one, the 1941-1948 Ford Book from the Early Ford Club is a great reference. Good luck with the build. https://shop.efv8.org/collections/fo...book-softbound
