Talking Re: trailering

use only two straps, one over the radiator cap and the other attaches to the tail light, then activate that insurance you have been squirrelling away.. Yep all other ideas are better!!

I have always used a wheel chock made of 2x4's as well as the chock can be screwed into a wooden trailer floor as my enclosed trailer has. This prevents any rocking which can also wear or loosen straps.

Lightbulb Re: trailering

Axle straps - not chains

On a Model T or Model A:

(2) from the rear axle to the rear using ratcheting nylon straps - not chains

(2) from the front axle to the front in the same manner

I have safely transported well over (100) Model A and T vehicles
in this manner .....

Including this 1930 Model A I dropped off to Bill in Visalia, CA
on Friday that came from Leslie & her Dad in Ft. Bragg, CA

When you cross tie the rear, what keeps the strap close to the wheel? Does the taper of the axle housing keep it in place?

I put them around the drive shaft and then come back to the tie down spot on the trailer.

double wrap the axle strap, it won't move once tight due to taper
