Default 1951 Ford F3

City: St. Paul
State: MN
Price: SOLD

1951 Ford F3 with chassis and motor restoration complete. The body is extremely solid with no rust through spots. Cab, fenders and doors are solid! It’s hard to find a body in this great of shape. This truck came out of North Dakota and has been kept indoors ever since I bought it five years ago. I did a complete tear down and rebuilt it with new stock parts. This is, for the most part, a complete stock truck. I did put a more modern rear end in it for better gear ratio otherwise everything else is stock.

This truck has the original V8 flathead with 47,566 original miles. It has the original 4 speed, on the floor, transmission. The motor is in great shape! Cylinder walls are very smooth and the valves have been re-seated. Compression is great! The truck runs great but will need some minor adjustments as it really hasn’t been “broken in” since it’s been put all back together. By minor adjustments I mean tweaking the carb. It runs smooth and timing is perfect.

The frame has been sandblasted, primed and painted black. Every leaf spring was individually sand blasted and painted. The chassis is complete with not one piece of rust on it. The body has minor surface rust but again no rust through. Very solid!! Engine and transmission were cleaned, primed and painted red. Drive shaft is original but had to be shortened a bit to fit the ’69 F250 rear end I put in. This will make it much more enjoyable to drive with the better gear ratio than the stock rear end.

The wiring harness is brand new and was purchased from Y n Z’s yesterdays parts. It’s an exact duplicate of the original wire harness with the correct wire colors to match factor specs. I did have it modified so the rear brake lights can also be used as the turn signals and the front turn signals can be used using the parking lights. The only things that need to be wired are the front and rear lights/turn signals. The necessary wiring for this is included. Otherwise everything else is wired. I still have the complete wiring instructions/diagrams which are very easy to read and follow.

There has been a lot done to this truck so please feel free to e-mail me with additional questions.

Below are a few of the things that have either been rebuilt or are new.

New brakes, wheel cylinders and master cylinder.
New Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads.
2 new water pumps.
2 new temp gauges and temp senders.
Rebuilt distributor, starter and generator.
New spark plugs/wires and solenoid.
New voltage regulator, starter relay and horn relay.
New oil pump and fuel pump.
New fan belt and water pump belts.
New radiator, hoses and clamps.
New fuel tank sender.
New wiring.
1969 Ford F250 rear end for better gear ratio.
New tie rod and ends.
New leaf spring brackets and bushings.
New fuel line.
New brake lines.
New exhaust and muffler.
New windshield, rear window, door glass and rubber. (Vent windows are original with the original ford logo).
New chrome turn signal switch.
New air cleaner with paper filter.
Complete new gasket/seal overhaul on engine.
New shocks. Front shocks are mounted and I have a pair for the rear that I will include.
New king pins.
Wheel bearings have been repacked with new grease

This is a solid truck with all the major work completed. You can either leave the body the way it is or paint it your color choice. Everything is together except for the front head lights/parking lights. It might be easier to get the wiring for the lighting and turn signals as complete as possible before the lights are permanently in place. I have all the original parts for the lights.

Truck runs smooth and is quiet but can NOT be driven on the road until you get new tires. Right now I have the original 17” split rim wheels on it and the tries hold air but are NOT road worthy. I do have a set of straight 16” wheels for this truck that I would also include. I also have the original baby moon hubcaps that will fit the 16” wheels. There is no box but it’s ready for whatever the buyer wants to put on the back. It originally had a grain box but the wood was pretty rotted. I also have the seat for it but it will need to be re-upholstered or some extra foam and a blanket will work.

If you're interested in the truck please let me know and I will send you pictures of it. I have MANY pictures that show the progress of tear down to rebuild..too many to post.

This is a great truck!

Thanks.
