Default Cleveland Clyde is reborn as TEXAS RED

Following three years of part-time effort, the restoration of my 1930 Model A Town Sedan is virtually complete. Just a few nits to finish up.

The car has only 56k miles on it since new. It spent the first 60 years of its life in Cleveland. Despite that environment of salty winter roads, the car had zero meaningful rust on it when I got it.

Virtually every nut, bolt, screw, and other component has been removed, cleaned, reconditioned, rebuilt, replated, repainted and reinstalled. I was able to reuse about 90% of the nuts, bolts and other fasteners that were on the car when it left the Dearborn factory in May, 1930. Car has original engine.

Attached for your viewing amusement are some before and after photos of the ride that I've dubbed Texas Red.

Thanks to all on the board who've assisted me by answering my many questions.

Happy Motoring,
Texas Tom

Nice job. I especially like the instrument panel and the wood graining.

I chose a red paint that's used on modern cars (Honda "San Marino Red"). It's virtually identical to the "Rubelite Red" shown in the Model A Paint Guide.

Hey Pooch:

You nailed it! It's a great song. Not many Barners drive cars that have their own theme songs.

One thing's for sure: TEXAS RED may travel to Cleveland, but he's sure as heck gonna stay clear of Arizona...and that Ranger with the Big Iron on his hip!
