Drake Boards
I bought the Drake boards but am a bit put off by the Drake label that screams repop from the bottom side, along with the plating which may be a plus but calls for some paint. I got some original boards that are from long storage with brittle and old cover. Since the metal is perfect I may have to recover them and use the Drake boards on a more modified car. In the meantime, I may just run the originals painted black rather than the beautiful repops. I really like the real thing even if it may need covering at a later date. Good Luck: Fred A

Re: Recover '40 Sedan Running Boards
I did my '37 twenty years ago, Drakes, looks good! Good info above.
The job will be easier if you lay the covers out flat a day and two and install'em on a warm day. Fordman |

Re: Recover '40 Sedan Running Boards
If anyone, here, needs a STRAIGHT pair of '39 Deluxe or '40 boards, I have a pair for $100.00, but you have to pick them up in Daytona Beach, for that price.
They have been covered in bed liner. The liner, really, doesn't look too bad on them. They are more if I would have to fool with packaging and shipping them. Thank you, mikeburch CLICK ON PHOTO TO ENLARGE |
