A little self plugging doesn't hurt...I'll go out on a limb and say I don't think Kiwi is living off of the cams he's able to make.

I know of some long term members here on the Barn that used to do a daily (minimum) self promotion of their services, no one batted an eye...so why is it when a man is proud about what he's accomplished, or his service accomplished, does some one want to frown upon it.

I'd better stop, or I'll name names of long time members here who do a similar thing...maybe not in starting a thread, but seem to add into existing ones...and yet no one say's a thing...

I see your point Pete..and know it is/could be in direct competition with you.

I'd hope in the future you'll show the same sincerity when others promote themselves in lines of work you may not be involved with.

Any posting that relates to early Ford V8's is ok with me - the woodgrainer pictures were an inspiration for me to make the interior of my 33 better.

I can see where shameless self promotion could become a slippery slope and would be annoying but, that said, I have seen so little of that here that I don't see that happening. The other forums I'm involved with have folks who monitor the posts and step in and correct transgressions when they occur.

If this post is wrong then so are the happy birthday, woodgrain, distributor repair, and even veteran day posts. A number of very senior members routinely post strings with nothing to do with the ev8. Jmo also will mention I have been very happy with camshafts I have bought from Pete as well

That pretty-well clears it up for me. My next rumpety-rump comes from the humble, non-arrogant, great sense of humor guy. DD

Ford wins ..... well the mighty flatheads were one of the favorite & winning-est engines back in the day on the legendary Daytona beach & today Ford wins again at the Famous Daytona international Speedway making it a clean sweep for Ford at 2015 Daytona Speedweeks !!!!
I wonder what cam that Ford engine had in it that won today ?????
cheers
Tony

Locally Ford flatheads were the winning-est engines back in the early to mid 50's (for the most part because they were the only engines)
During that time period made several trips to Providence R.I. to the Literios shop to pickup camshafts.

I'd rather hear about Ford wins than countless brand x powered Fords that seem to be everywhere you look. C'mon guys aren't we all on the same team?

I would venture to guess it was the robustness of design that carried the Flatheads as far as they went.

At that time period, plentiful and cheap comes to mind, not robustness of design.

Well I disagree respectfully of course. The Flathead Ford oiled its insert bearing bottom end properly. The crank and rods were amazingly durable. Everything about them was quality as a matter of fact.
