Battery Q...
Regardless of cost...What's the 'best' 12v battery (brand) with best current technology on the market, in your opinion/experience?

Re: Battery Q...
Exide batterys are made in USA. Sears, Napa, and others use them as their premium line. Buy the 72 month and expect about that from them.

Re: Battery Q...
For the size, weight, and price, it would be difficult beat an Optima. If size and weight are a concern, there are other viable options.

Re: Battery Q...
It would be interesting to have seen the answers had you asked what was the worst battery ever made . I suspect the answers might have been the same.........

Re: Battery Q...
For me the best one is the free one from the "junk" pile, I havn't bought a battery for 14 years, it seems that the "art" of charging and testing batterys is now left to a little box, even if it looks new if the box says bad it must be bad??
I usually get another 3-7+ years out of good looking Interstate batterys I collect off the junk pile. |

Well , seems hard to get a consensus on anything in life! Looks like Optima gets a thumbs up here. I'm looking to buy a 6V for my model a and two 12V for another vehicle. Does Optima make a DEEP cycle 12V to anyone knowledge? |

I know what you/Kurt are saying. But when you put a load tester on a battery and put the pingalings to it...and a bad cell reveals itself, then you have to do something and unfortunately, I ain't got a battery pile,eh! BTW...Anyone ever heard of or used : LIFELINE BATTERIES,INC in Azusa Ca 91702? Last edited by hardtimes; 06-20-2011 at 11:01 PM. |

Re: Battery Q...
Check out antiqueautobattery.com They are pricey, but are replica's of original old style batteries. However, they are modern inside and many are Optima's. They are beautiful and I have one in my '51 Merc.
