Default Sooner Model A Club

Anyone post here a member of the Sooner Model A Club in Oklahoma City? I am thinking about attending the open meeting one the 18th and am not sure what to expect. I don't have a car or anything bit I'd like to get involved and learn some stuff for when I have an A of my own.

Just curious.

By all means, you should attend the meeting. You will be welcomed with open
arms regardless of whether or not you have a car. Besides, the folks there will
help guide you in the purchase of your first car. Just do it!

I joined up without a car myself, and even spent one year on the board before owning an A.

Good to know. It will probably be a while before I have a car, but I want to get some knowledge packed in before purchasing one anyhow. Seems like a good way to do this.

Where does the club name sooner come from. Do they get to the meet sooner than other clubs?

A sooner was someone who snuck onto the land to claim their plot in a government land grant program before they were supposed to.

As in getting onto the land "sooner" than they should have.

Greg come on down. If you come by this month you will be attending one of our most popular meetings. This month features what we call the Beauty and the Beast auction. There will be all kinds of Model A Parts and accessories along with all kinds of other goodies. Ownership of a Model A is not requried. Meeting starts at 7 pm. Check the link below for meeting times and location.
