Default 32 bb v8 radiator

What years radiator will work in a 32 commercial truck for a v8 engine?

Are you asking about a Model BB Truck or a commercial vehicle like a pickup?

Very few 1932 trucks came with a V-8 engine and not many more for 1932 commercial vehicles, like the pickup. The 1933-34 Model BB truck radiator is part number BB-8005-D and the 1933-34 commercial vehicles use part number 40-8005-A.

1932 parts are often unique to that year only, and I suspect the same for the 1932 V-8 truck and 1932 commercials. You may have to find one for a 1933-34 and make the needed modifications. Hopefully someone on FordBarn can help you more specifically.

One plus of the '32s is that the entire front end from the firewall to the hood, front fenders, radiator shells and radiators are interchangeable. There was a service-only heavy duty four-cylinder radiator released fairly late in the model year primarily for big trucks.

'33-'34 commercial and big truck radiators are not readily modifiable for use on a a'32 chassis because of their rearward slope, which is absent on '32 radiators.

Be really cautious about the ebay radiators. Speedway is cheap but at least they are "brand name". There are Taiwan and China knockoffs of really questionable quality. Major issues I have heard of include... Just plain don't fit, grille shell and hood hinge mounts wrong or missing, early failure to corrosion.

If you are going to go aluminum consider Griffin (and the other one or two who have been out there long enough to establish a "track record"). Corrosion will always be a concern, you will need to use a modern coolant with inhibitors and refresh it every 3 years.

Johnsons Rod Shop has the old Walker line up and running and while far far from cheap have a well deserved reputation of installing once and forgetting it. Brassworks custom builds a more authentic radiator and last I checked Custom Auto Radiator in New Jersey was still making copper/brass radiators.
