Angry Free advice

For those of you building an engine with a press-on type timing gear, never rely on the interference fit to properly secure the gear. Always drill and tap and fit a couple of grubscrews [scotch keys] to prevent the possibility of the gear moving on the cam. Don't ask me how I came up with this knowledge! Brian

Default Re: Free advice

I know exactly what you are talking about. Had timing gear come loose on my 8BA years ago.
